Our standard psychology sessions run for 50 minutes, whether you're here for counselling or assessment. While the Australian Psychological Society recommends a fee of $300 for a session, we keep things affordable—at Difference Psychology, a session with a registered psychologist is just $200.

If your GP has mentioned 10 Medicare sessions, it’s good to know these aren’t completely free—they’re subsidised. With a Mental Health Care Plan, Medicare covers $96.65, leaving you with an out-of-pocket cost of $103.35. The rebate usually arrives in your account within 24 hours!

To make things simple, you can email your referral and Mental Health Care Plan to info@southwestwellness.com.au or ask your GP to fax it to 02 9182 5930.

We totally understand that life gets busy, and sometimes plans change! If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please give us at least 24 hours’ notice so we can offer the spot to someone else in need.

How to cancel or reschedule:

Available 7:30am – 8:00pm Monday & Friday, 7:30am – 2:30pm Saturday If your appointment is on a Monday, please reach out on Saturday (we’re closed Sundays).

If calling outside hours, leave us a voicemail with your name, psychologist’s name, and appointment details.

A $50 cancellation fee may apply if less than 24 hours’ notice is provided.

For all changes, please call reception—we can’t accept cancellations via email, text, or directly through your psychologist. We appreciate your support in helping us provide the best service to everyone!
